The participatory social contribution content, PicTrée, is a free mobile game app where players take photos of power assets like utility poles and manholes, and compete by connecting power lines based on the total length. In collaboration with Tokyo Electric Power Company, game users contribute to the maintenance of local infrastructure through the photos they take, helping with the early detection of equipment abnormalities.
- Challenges in Japan's Infrastructure Industry
With 50,000 transmission towers and 6 million utility poles (in the service area of Tokyo Electric Power Company), these numbers represent the vast amount of infrastructure under the management of Tokyo Electric Power Company. The maintenance and inspection of these facilities require an annual budget of 2 billion yen. To ensure a stable supply of electricity essential for daily life and economic activities, maintenance has traditionally been carried out by the company. However, with the looming challenges of a declining birthrate, aging population, and shrinking workforce, implementing innovative solutions has become an urgent necessity.
The participatory social contribution game PicTrée is a solution that not only enhances the efficiency and labor-saving aspects of infrastructure inspections but also revitalizes communities and fosters civic engagement from an entertainment perspective. The concept is gaining attention for going beyond a mere mobile app game, enabling players to contribute to society by photographing utility poles in their neighborhoods.
As a groundbreaking project utilizing the Web3 industry's emerging concept of DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks), PicTrée aims to evolve into a platform for solving various social issues in the future. By applying the concept of Gamified Work, a framework that enables social problem-solving through gamification, it strives to create projects that exemplify how “playing can generate rewards and improve society.”
Currently, it has over 2.6 million members worldwide and continues to expand its content and user base under the concept of creating an “economic society where everyone can enjoy life while earning.”
Global Expansion of the Japanese Sake NFT Marketplace, “Sake World NFT”
In collaboration with Leaf Publications, we have conceptualized and brought to life the “Kikizake to Earn” project to address the challenges faced by struggling sake breweries and promote the overseas sales of Japanese sake.
Following the selection of the “Sake World NFT” project by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the pilot project is set to launch in Singapore and expand globally.
“Sake World NFT” is a new type of marketplace where users can not only purchase Japanese sake just like a regular e-commerce site but also age, store, and trade sake with other individuals. To support the Japanese sake industry, the marketplace incorporates a system where a portion of each transaction between general users is returned as royalties to the brewery that produced the sake, thus boosting the industry as a whole.
Remote Waste Sorting Game
A Solution to Address Labor Shortages
We are developing a game in collaboration with Lita Technology, where users sort waste by tapping on images, and based on their inputs, robotic arms operate remotely in the factory. The project aims to contribute to improving the global labor imbalance in the future and has been selected for a subsidy program by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). We are also planning new initiatives similar to e-sports events to engage a wide range of users.
We will conduct trials to verify whether this solution can effectively address labor shortages and if it can contribute to raising awareness about proper waste sorting.
Web3 Problem-Solving Solutions Leveraging Extensive Expertise and Development Capabilities
Based on the expertise accumulated through games like the utility pole photography game “PicTrée,” we partner with Simplex, a solutions development company, to provide end-to-end support from idea generation and development to commercialization.
