The first “Impact NFTs” will be sold for the Lucky Farmer game on PlayMining, which will provide support for a banana farmer in the Philippines.

SINGAPORE, April 24, 2023— Digital Entertainment Asset Pte. Ltd. (DEA), a Singapore-based global GameFi company and owner of the PlayMining gaming platform, has announced the launch of the ”[Lucky Farmer] <Be the Change! Impact NFT> DJhau” NFT collection at 14:00 (UTC+8) on April 24, 2023. This is the first product to be sold for PlayMining’s novel “Impact NFT” GameFi donation initiative.

Impact NFTs are unprecedented and revolutionary NFTs that enable gamers to easily make donations to those in need just by holding an NFT and playing games. This is achieved through GameFi—games that allow users to earn crypto assets by playing games—by automatically donating a percentage of earned crypto when an Impact NFT is used in a game.

“Impact NFT” Framework

The donation market has been expanding due to a recent rise in awareness of the power of social contribution. New ways of showing monetary support, such as crowdfunding, are spreading among younger generations, especially Generation Z and millennials. However, the donation market is still skewed toward older generations, so DEA developed Impact NFTs to make donations more accessible to younger people.

The first Impact NFT supports a banana farmer in the Philippines named DJhau (nickname, real name not disclosed). When players use this Impact NFT to play “Lucky Farmer”—a PlayMining Play-to-Earn game which was officially launched in November last year—20 percent of the DEAPcoin ($DEP) earned will be donated to DJhau’s wallet.

DJhau started his banana farm after his company went bankrupt due to the coronavirus pandemic, but his family of 11 (including nine siblings) was struggling to make ends meet and he was looking for support. DEA decided to support DJhau through the Impact NFT based on his passionate desire to help his family.

DJhau, the recipient of this donation, is also committed to contributing to local economic activities and creating local employment. Through this initiative, we are able to simultaneously support DJhau’s business and contribute to his local community.

DEA is actively involved in activities related to ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) and SDGs (sustainable development goals) through GameFi in order to realize a sustainable society, solve social issues, and support developing countries. Lucky Farmer, a Play-to-Earn game that enables players to earn DEAPcoin ($DEP), a crypto asset issued by DEA, is a coin pusher game with a farm theme. To play the game, players tap the screen to drop medals. The dropped medals are pushed into a wagon at the bottom of the screen to spin a slot machine.
